Friday morning saw us arrive down to Europe’s one and only surf skate and music festival on the South west coast of Newquay, Cornwall. Relentless Boardmasters 2012 had arrived. Eight stages, filled with the most established, talented and up and coming artists Britain has to offer. Dizzee Rascel, Maverick Sabre, Delilah, Ed Sheeran, DJ Fresh, Mikill Pane, Sway, SHY FX, DJ Natty, and even even EVEN more were on the bill to perform last weekend.

Friday night saw Mikill Pane play to a hyped up intimate crowd in the desperadoes dome, with the likes of Shy FX and Maxsta who were also on the line up to be gracing the stage. With the intimate crowd roaring and shouting out word to word every song Mikill Pane performed, it was a great performance to get the festival goers warmed up for the weekend ahead.

Ed Sheeran was the headliner for Friday night’s main stage, and of course he set the stage alight. Like always Ed Sheeran took the stage solo, making it his with just him and his guitar. He gave the set a couple of extra surprises from reggae mixes and covers, but the best surprise by far was his last song to his set. Ed Sheeran finished off his performance with his number one hit “The A team.” I could see the crowd in expectation to see if Mikill Pane would show his face and join him on their remix of the song the renamed ‘Little lady.’ And yes, of course they didn’t let us down. Ed Sheeran introduced Mikill Pane on stage. The crowd at that second was the craziest i had seen it. Ed Sheeran put one a great performance, which i’m sure he won over a few new fans that night.

Saturday morning saw us slowly crawl out of our tent after far too many Cornish rattlers. So we decided to get that south west air into our lungs and check out some hangover cure entertainment at the site. The Desperadoes dome was great to get the chance to watch a little bit of the skateboarding and BMX-ing if you missed out earlier in the week. We then took to the far side of Boardmasters to check out Marley point, where we saw DJ Natty take to the decks and played a great afternoon set. The view stage was also a great stop for some amazing up and coming talent, with a fresh performance from singer song writer Saskia Maxwell.

Saturday night was here, with the festival goers watching some of the biggest names in the music industry take to the stage. Of which Delilah and Maverick Sabre were among those to kick of the main stage hype. As soon as Maxiimo Park finished their set even more crowds flooded over to the main stage, to watch the highly anticipated headliner of the night… Dizzee Rascal. It wasn’t long until mosh pits formed, and the atmosphere had turned even more electric. Dizzee Rascals performance was more than amazing. He really did give Boardmasters a great night with a mix of his classic and a few new pieces.  Once the fireworks were set off, and the confetti started to fall over us, Dizzees set was over.

As the crowds disbursed, Zane Lowe was one of the last headliners of the weekend to be performing in the unleashed Arena. From start to finish Zane Lowe was incredible, from his mixes right to his choice of music. His set was flawless.

After our fair share of sun bathing, partying, drinking and mosh pits, we took out our British stickers and stuck them to the hands of the festival goers at Boardmasters. Take a peak.
